    Hi Caitlin!

This is such an interesting and important topic to discuss. After reviewing your project I feel as though I have a better understanding of the full impact that eating meat can have on the environment. I also better understand how carbon footprints can be made smaller by reducing our meat intake. I think that I would definitely be able to switch to a plant-based diet as I am already a vegetarian. Even so, my next step would be looking to cut out dairy products as I still have those every once in a while. Personally, I would love to see more plant-based diets within my school community. My school already offers vegetarian options however, I hope they would be willing to take part in a meatless Monday or something along those lines. Great project!! 🙂

      Hi Solène,
I am so thrilled that my website inspired you and gave you a better understanding of a Plant-Based diet! Yes I totally think you would be able to switch to a Plant-Based diet from being a vegetarian. With you cutting out dairy products remember to do that slow. Eliminate the amount you have it on your plate day by day. It does not need to be a fast change. Yes I think it would be so cool, if you are school participated in meatless Monday and I am going to work on that with my school. Thank you for your input!

    Hey Caitlin,

I love this topic! At the beginning of the year, my family and I actually moved to a mostly vegetable based diet. We are all super happy with how it has gone for us. I do sometimes eat fish because I don’t think I could give it up. I do wonder about how sustainable a completely plant-based diet is for a lifetime. What are your thoughts? Also I feel like there are some nutrients that plants just cannot give you as easily as meat such as iron, so any opinion on that?

    • April 24, 2020 by caitlin matthews

      Hi Cecelia,
I totally agree with you how sometimes a Plant-Based diet does not give us as much nutrients that other meats do. I think it really depends on the person, and if you are in need of those nutrients then maybe eat the meal of meat once a week or so. It can be certain options like that to fully provide someone with their lack of nutrients intake. A plant based diet is important but so is health so I think people need to have the equal balance

      • April 24, 2020 by caitlin

Also I forgot to mention that there are supplements that you can take for Iron deficiency.

    Hi Caitlin-
Love the website, so informative and I have already started to make the change. The simple tip by making vegetables the main part of your plate really works. I am not even hungry and I will keep going.

    • April 25, 2020 by Caitlin Matthews

Thank you! I totally agree that the simple tip by making vegetables the main part of your plate really works. It is small tips like that, to help the transition of a Plant-Based diet easier!

    Hey Caitlin,
I love the information that you provided. I have been waiting to try a plant based diet. I am going to try and switch out some foods for others and see how I feel after a week. I never knew how much what you eat has an impact on global warming .

    • April 25, 2020 by Caitlin Matthews

      HI Parker,
I am glad that you learned more information of a Plant-Based diet from my website! That was my goal. I think that is an awesome idea of cutting out some foods for a week and see how you feel. Remember the tip is so start slow! I am glad you got informed of how a Plant-Based diet is so beneficial in are world!

Hi Caitlin! I love that your page is so visual and full of images and color! For me, it is very helpful to actually see what con become part of my plant based diet. I think it’s important that we learn how to make “complete” meals that don’t have animal protein in them. Congratulations!

    Hi Caitlin!
I really loved your project! I really loved your webpage design and how you showed us so many resources on plant-based diets! I think that it’s a really cool idea that you created an Instagram account to share your favorite recipes, which was one of your tips to help inspire plant-based diets. I am not sure whether I would be able to switch to a plant-based diet. I think that it’s a little bit more difficult because my whole family eats meat and most of the family dinners will include meat. If I am not at home or maybe when I go to college and will just be eating/cooking for myself it will be easier to make the transition. I would love to be on a plant-based diet though because I think that especially in today’s world there are tons of options for non-meat eaters. I think that I would love to see some more plant-based diet meals at my school and maybe like SolĂ©ne (she commented earlier) my school could participate in a meatless Monday type thing. Overall your project was great!

    • April 27, 2020 by caitlin matthews

Thank you so much Jadyn! I really appreciate your feedback! Yes I totally agree with you about how it is really hard to switch to a Plant-Based meal because your whole family eats meat. I had the same trouble with my dad at first he was not really open to the whole plant based diet idea, but after I cooked him a meal he actually liked it. Transition when the best time is for you and I think it would be so cool if you started doing it during college. I think during that time it is very important to be heathy and eating this diet will provide you with that! I also totally agree with you about meatless Mondays and wanting that at your school. When I get back to school that is one of the things I am going to purpose to the environmental and sustainability council!

Hi Caitlin, I would love to see more plant based meals available. I learned so much from the site but I wanted to ask you do
you feel like you lack energy from being on the plant based diet ?

    • April 27, 2020 by caitlin

      Hi,
I think it is honestly different for every person. If you are concerned about it I think the biggest tip I would say is to take it slow. Take it day by day and see if something isn’t working out then maybe you need that certain food. A plant-based diet isn’t for everybody, but I think just replacing a meal a week to being Plant-Based can give you a good idea if the diet is right for you!
